今日はようやく、季節性インフルエンザの予防接種を受けてきました。
新型インフルエンザのワクチンは主治医にも少ししか手に入らなかったので、受けられるかわかりません。X____X
そんなに痛くはなかったけど、帰ってきたら疲れて昼寝しちゃった。
体に多少は負担がかかるみたいですね…。
今日は雨だったけど、明日は晴れるらしいので、のんびり過ごしたいな。

（JPLT関連の投稿なので、久々に日本語で書いてみました。でも、海外の人向けに書いてるって意識すると、なんとなく翻訳口調の文体になってる気がする！！！）

I inadvertently scored myself a really great hotel during a huge tourist weekend in Kobe. It's kind of expensive, but worth it.

The bus took just under 3 hours. It is my first time in Kobe, but I love it. It is small and walkable and has a Chinatown and stores are everywhere~~ and the ocean is right there. It is Yokohama's Kansai twin.

Kobe also has a wannabe New York feel, too, though. There are so many luxury brand stores and Starbucks is everywhere.

So I just came here to hang out and take the JLPT tomorrow, but it so happens that the annual Kobe Luminarie light festival is also starting this week. I decided to go take a look and I have a TON of pictures but until I get home:

Ahh there were couples everywhere and I think I was the only one out of the 320257029357 billion people there that was alone but I am not going to let that hold me back (much).

What I really love about Kobe, though, is Chinatown! Called Nankingmachi here, it's much smaller than Yokohama but they have got their food stalls on and this is soooo the kind of food I have been wanting.



Also, everything is pretty at night.

I would never be bored if I lived in a place like this!

So, yesterday was the last day of term, with the closing ceremony and saying goodbye to everyone. It was very sad and I ended up crying more than I intended to--I didn't realize I was going to miss everyone so much. I didn't spend much time with them and we didn't see eye to eye all the time, but there's no denying they were wonderfully fun, sweet people.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's this. Everyone judges. Everyone says racist things, and everyone thinks in stereotypes. Even if you try not to, even if you didn't intend for it to be that way, even if you feel guilty as soon as you do it, even if you don't mean it and you know it doesn't apply to everyone, it still happens. Everyone does it, because it's human nature to want to judge, to want to categorize things. People don't fit into categories, but we try, and the most important thing is realizing that other people do it too. It may not always be nice or true or anything, but it happens, and I think as soon as we stop treating it as such a big, serious thing, the world will be a much calmer place.

In simple terms: Everyone has the potential for maximum suckage, so take a chill pill, bitches. ♥

I was grocery shopping in Tesco earlier when they started playing 'Jingle Bell Rock' over the speakers. Did I think Christmas spirit? Nope. I thought Lethal Weapon. I love how many action movies take place at Christmas. Nothing says "peace on Earth" like blowing up a building. (Yes, that was sarcasm.) I love LW. Seriously overdue a rewatch.

Not that I have time right now. I'm going to be pretty scarce on-line for the rest of the weekend as, like some of you, I'm taking the JLPT on Sunday. I haven't sat a language exam for almost a decade, so this should be interesting. I've got Monday off work so I at least get a bit of a weekend, and am contemplating taking myself shopping as a treat as there is a small voice inside of me that says it's been a while since I last bought a pair of boots. I've got black, I've got purple, but I don't have any brown and I feel this situation should be rectified. So, good luck to everyone else who's taking the test! My fingers are crossed for us all.

In between revision, I've been getting acquainted with Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. Am now 53 chapters through the manga and I have to say, if the drama's even half as funny as the source material, it's going to be an absolute scream. I can't wait to see Kame as Kyouhei - he's going to be *perfect*. I'm not sure how a live-action Sunako will work out, mind you, but I'm sure they'll figure out something. Too bad I'm in South Africa when the series starts and therefore will not be getting anywhere near it until the start of February. :-( You guys will simply have to flail for me, okay?

Since I am trying to be good and drag myself away from the laptop to do more sensible things (namely, get some sleep so I don't yawn all the way through the exam, and make sure I know everything I think I know), I'm going to cheat and get in a couple of birthday greetings at once here. It's now after midnight in my timezone so I feel justified in saying a very Happy Birthday to fushigitenshi! I appreciate you won't have hit the right day yet, Ria, but I hope it's a good one when it arrives! And even earlier, a very Happy Birthday to rkold for Sunday. (I can never remember which way round the two of you are, but luckily my PDA is set to remind me.) Have a wonderful weekend, Rachel - I'll have to take you out for cake in February! *hugs*

Between revision, Nano, and various things going on at work I've been all of a muddle this last month! One of my colleagues has already handed out her Christmas cards and I haven't even bought mine yet, never mind sorting out for birthdays and things. *sigh* I think my life should quieten down a bit by March, maybe?
